Description:The Institutional Advancement Department creates and implements the Indianapolis Zoo’s fundraising efforts. This internship position will provide a substantial experience in non–profit development and management, grant writing, events planning, researching donor prospects and solicitation strategizing, in addition to gaining valuable office experience working in one of the nation's top-ten zoos. Individuals with great attention to detail, previous experience with special events and team players are encouraged to apply.

Help recruit, select, train, motivate and supervise our great group of nearly 900 individuals between the ages of 14 and 95. You will gain administrative and organizational skills, learn about non-profit management and have fun, too!

Help us better understand the guest experience so we can achieve our conservation mission! You’ll ask guests for their opinions and impressions using surveys, observe how guests use exhibit spaces, and make recommendations for improvement based on the resulting data.

Education On-Grounds Interpretation Internship
On-grounds interpretation interns take part in guest experiences on grounds, such as animal chats, informal interpretation in the Simon Skjodt International Orangutan Center and roving throughout the Zoo, as well as participate in day-to-day preparation and organization of experiences and assist with creating programming.

Conservation Education Family and Youth Programs Internship
Join our multi-disciplined team of educators, scientists and conservationists to develop and implement a far-reaching series of programs that will have a measurable, significant and positive impact on wildlife and wild places around the planet, and, help transform the City of Indianapolis into a community that embraces environmental stewardship as a core value. Conservation Education Program interns assist with camps, overnights and variety of other visitor programming. Interns will have opportunities to experience educational programming from a range of viewpoints from development to facilitation.

Description:   The Marketing Intern will be mentored primarily by the Marketing Director and will assist with various marketing activities, including, but not limited to: producing content for social media platforms, helping to execute our inbound marketing strategy, executing email marketing campaigns, and working on the company website. 

The intern is also able to choose from a variety of capacities, including content marketing, paid media, search engine optimization (SEO), data and analytics, and B2B relations depending on the intern’s interest, we will be happy to tailor this experience. Restriction: Internal project however work is performed for defense sector hence only US Citizens holders willing to work onsite will be considered.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Profile, analyze and resolve incidents related to .NET (VB.NET) application.
  • Provide production, pre-production and test support for a global Microsoft .NET environment build on IIS and Oracle DB.
  • Partner with development and operations teams to improve application performance and scalability.
  • Actively design and develop system and application monitoring needs.
  • Drive the support of business-critical outages, clear paths to resolution, and lead the steps for prevention
  • Become a technical leader and mentor teammates.
  • Participate in the on-call rotation in support of our 24x7 Production environments.
  • Create SQL queries to find the details from Database.
  • Navigate through multiple logs to understand the root cause of the issue.
  • Deploy release to production, staging and QA environments.

 

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent
  • A creative thinker who can investigate multiple paths in the hunt for the root cause of an urgent issue
  • Development experience on .net (VB.NET) and production support.
  • Having proven knowledge on writing SQL queries to investigate the data.
  • Clear understanding of ITIL framework.
