The Accounting / Finance Intern will be responsible for assisting the Accounting / Finance Department in day to day operations and projects that support the Department in making operating and policy decisions. We are looking for a responsible, driven, creative individual who would like to gain experience in the Finance/Accounting industry. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Support the Accounting / Finance Department in all areas. Duties would include, but not limited to: Assist in month-end close processes such as preparation of journal entries and account reconciliations. Assist in performing reviews for adherence to existing Departmental policies and procedures. Assist in long-term cash flow projections. Assist in forecasting and budgeting processes. Reconcile existing fixed assets to the fixed asset register for each entity. Provide team support for ad hoc projects such as flash reporting dashboards for management and event analysis. Provide administrative support to the Accounting / Finance Department. Selection Process Final applicants will be contacted and invited to participate in our interview process starting in April. The intern will support our issue campaign work, providing an excellent opportunity to be involved in federal, state and local public policy decisions within the context of a rural, community‑based, power-building organization, and to learn about community organizing, advocacy and research. Responsibilities may include research to support organizing and policy campaigns; writing reports, fact sheets, blogs and action alerts; and assisting with other publications and tasks. The intern will be expected to undertake multiple projects with clear deliverables. With a wide range of ongoing campaigns in multiple issue areas, we will develop a work plan with the intern based on their skills and interests within the first two weeks of employment. Projects will be scaled to be completed or handed off by the end of the internship. The interns will receive a stipend of $2,000 per month for up to three months. Start and end dates are flexible for the right candidate. Work is based out of our Billings, Montana, office, a LEED Platinum office building. Work is conducted from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm on weekdays, but may require occasional evening and weekend work.

Description:The Institutional Advancement Department creates and implements the Indianapolis Zoo’s fundraising efforts. This internship position will provide a substantial experience in non–profit development and management, grant writing, events planning, researching donor prospects and solicitation strategizing, in addition to gaining valuable office experience working in one of the nation's top-ten zoos. Help us better understand the guest experience so we can achieve our conservation mission! You’ll ask guests for their opinions and impressions using surveys, observe how guests use exhibit spaces, and make recommendations for improvement based on the resulting data.

Education On-Grounds Interpretation Internship
On-grounds interpretation interns take part in guest experiences on grounds, such as animal chats, informal interpretation in the Simon Skjodt International Orangutan Center and roving throughout the Zoo, as well as participate in day-to-day preparation and organization of experiences and assist with creating programming.
