Description:The Institutional Advancement Department creates and implements the Indianapolis Zoo’s fundraising efforts. This internship position will provide a substantial experience in non–profit development and management, grant writing, events planning, researching donor prospects and solicitation strategizing, in addition to gaining valuable office experience working in one of the nation's top-ten zoos. Description:Join this fast-paced department and take part in all aspects of volunteer management. Help recruit, select, train, motivate and supervise our great group of nearly 900 individuals between the ages of 14 and 95. You will gain administrative and organizational skills, learn about non-profit management and have fun, too! 
Zoo Internships are open to current college students – who are at least at entering their sophomore year – enrolled in a four-year degree program. Interns serve 20-40 hours per week for 12 consecutive weeks. Positions are experience-based and are therefore unpaid. The Zoo can provide information to assist with your housing and transportation search.

Description:  We are looking for a Data Entry Clerk to type information into our database from paper documents. The ideal candidate will be computer savvy and a fast typist with a keen eye for detail. You will report to a data manager or another senior data team member. Understanding of data confidentiality principles is compulsory.

The company will rely on you for having accurate and updated data that are easily accessible through a digital database.

Responsibilities:

  • Transfer data from paper formats into computer files or database systems using keyboards, data recorders or optical scanners
  • Type in data provided directly from customers
  • Create spreadsheets with large numbers of figures without mistakes
  • Verify data by comparing it to source documents
  • Update existing data
  • Retrieve data from the database or electronic files as requested
  • Perform regular backups to ensure data preservation
  • Sort and organize paperwork after entering data to ensure it is not lost

The Front Office Admin/Receptionist is responsible for maintaining the overall office organization and prepares the daily and monthly sales, and budget reports. This position will also assist various departments with special tasks. Essential Functions: Organize and oversee all daily front desk procedures; Keep reception and office area organized. This includes, maintaining the Visitors log, and confidentiality agreements. Professionally greet and assist all Visitors, ensuring that the Company?s safety procedures are abided by. Answer, screen, and direct incoming calls. Order office supplies and business cards. Coordinate breakfast and/or lunches for meetings. Oversee service calls on copiers and submit meter readings. Prepares and distributes the following reports: Invoice Customer orders; procedure also includes organizing, filing, and mailing. Maintain phone directories. Year end transferring of old to new closed orders files, and creating labels and folders. Act as an information resource for other office departments. Assist in various assignments and/or duties as assigned. Serve as back up customer service rep Education, Experience, and skills required: Strong communication skills via telephone, Email and written correspondence. Self-motivated, outgoing, and friendly. Ability to handle multiple tasks, manage time and prioritize tasks, effectively & calmly. Excellent problem solving & organizational skills. Working knowledge of computers and various Microsoft programs and equipment. Bi-Lingual preferred, not required
