We are looking for creative, energetic, and driven interns who are comfortable working with children and love sports. The student volunteers/interns will work alongside our Lead Coach in our after school program in Tennis,Soccer or Hockey. Position will teach valuable life skills such as patience, stamina, and perseverance. Position is unpaid and college credit is available. The hours of work is between 1pm to 4pm. And we will have opening for the South and East Bay Area: West San Jose, Santa Clara, Cupertino, Los Altos, Fremont, Castro Valley and more cities.

Description:
The focus of this program is to provide a student, who desires a career in Sports Information or Media Relations, with an opportunity to learn and experience the business side of sports and media through “hands-on” participation. Requires the student to be disciplined to complete assignments on time with minimal supervision. The internship provides students the opportunity to learn how a professional hockey team’s media relations department executes activities on a day-to-day basis.
The intern must be available for normal office hours – generally 10-15 hours per week is minimum, with more hours suggested.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

Assist with media publications, game notes, and website content
Assist with the coordination of interview requests
Opportunities available in Broadcasting which include assisting with on-air duties related to podcast content 
Other duties as assigned
 

Required Knowledge / Skills / Qualifications:

Proficient in Microsoft Word & Excel
Knowledge of hockey recommended
Team player
Work independently to complete assignments
Experience or aptitude in sportswriting recommended
Excellent communications skills, both oral and written
Ability to handle multiple tasks with strong attention to detail

This job involves programming an extremely wide range of leisure activities including hiking, backpacking, fishing, rafting, sports, games, crafts, computer activities, entertainment, social events, seminars, outdoor skills courses, contests, tournaments, and van trips. With the assistance of the Park-wide Recreation Office that oversees the Employee Recreation Program, you will be responsible for planning, promoting, operating, and evaluating all recreation activities on your location. In addition, you will be responsible for operating an outdoor equipment & video rental program, and the upkeep of your location recreation facilities and equipment. You will be programming in indoor facilities as well as in the wild outdoors. The work is very diverse and exiting.
Applicants who have earned or are working toward a degree in Recreation, Physical Education, or closely related field are desired. Experience, skills, and knowledge in the field of recreation and leisure programming will be very beneficial, as well as any special skills or certifications that may apply to the activities listed above. Knowledge of the Co-Op Employee Recreation Program is helpful.

We paint Ski Lifts, Ski Lodges & Amusement Park Rides all over North America! This summer we are scheduling contracts in UT, CO, NH, MA, PA, VT, NY, NJ, CT, & we’re adding more each month. Painting & climbing experience an asset but we’ll train you! If you like to travel, the outdoors, & hanging in Resorts the pay ranges from $9.00 - $12.00/hr, including Accommodation & lots of hours.
